Are you a sci-fi fan? Then you believe in time machine I suppose. Well, one thing we all know is without physics it will not work. Then why do we try to speed up our time in real life?

Yes, what I meant time machines is outrunning time. Let’s talk about time today. A small preview:

  • What is outrunning time?
  • Whatever you try it will never work
  • My takeaway after failing to time

What is outrunning time?

outrunning time

A 19-year-old boy becomes a billionaire

A 20-year old girl created her software

Only 18 years old Billie Eilish won her first Grammy award today

Shawn Mendes wrote his first song when he was just 15 years old

At the age of 25, this new boy directed his first movie

The list goes long…

What are these irrelevant facts I am giving here, right? I want you to think for a second, don’t scroll. Looking at these people who achieve a lot at a young age, do you look down on them sometimes?

Answers: Not even a second. I have a dream too that I can relate. They worked their ass out to reach that place I respect them. I pity them for not being able to do normal stuff at this very young age. Whatever media trolls, they deserve more peace, etc…

These people are super smart as they understand the pace of time and how success works. But be honest okay!

Other answers: They got lucky. Their agency is the reason for their success, not them. They had many unfair advantages. They are pretty so their skills don’t matter. For him/her anything will work. She autotunes everything so who will not crash those billboard numbers? etc…

These are true somewhat, but not completely. People with these answers are not pure evil. Possible mindsets of them are,

  1. They wholeheartedly hate that person
  2. To feel good about themselves they’ll figure out excuses to vent on others’ success.

Here’s the truth in general. I can for sure say there was a moment in all of our lives when we told ourselves that we were not working enough and started to feel inferior. A sudden urge to achieve, prove, and get validation pumps within us. This is a pattern. It occurs most of the time when someone of our age or younger is having the spotlight.

This is how we may feel: We evaluate all our work as a very small contribution. We blame ourselves for never trying, we feel every single person is watching us and they see mediocrity. Everything is messed up because we think inside, “YOU ARE A MESS NOW”.

So straight away from the next day, we would try to work harder and harder than we can, hurting ourselves; pushing our horizons with the wrong intention and following the shady beacons. We still see no improvement in our achievements. Because we’re wishing it would happen in a night. Right there that is called a fool act. To understand better thereby to quote,

When you plant seeds in the garden, you don’t dig them up every day to see if they have sprouted yet. You simply water them and clear away the weeds” – Thubten Chodron

I addressed this fixation on speeding up as outrunning time. This is a disease. If you don’t stop it right now, you will die. Yeah, I am honest. Mentally you will stop thinking about yourself at all. Whatever you do is resonated with others. Thus all your actions and success are for them.

 YOU WILL FORGET YOUR DREAMS;

 YOUR PASSION;

YOUR FIRE INSIDE YOU IS LOST;

YOU ARE LOST.

Time is a bloody bastard that way.

Whatever you try, it will never work!

feeling left behind

I am gonna pull a red button and say, “Nobody can outrun or defeat time”. Wise people don’t chase time, they rather chase dreams. You may think at a young age he/she is trying so much, all to get attention. I mean, who doesn’t like a small appreciation for their efforts? But it’s just they were a bit lucky to give wings for their dreams soon, so are the accolades.

As SRK said, “One of the biggest reasons for success is to be at the right place at the right time with the right people”

This is what happened to some as an advantage in their early stages. When they got that start they found their true calling and kept on striving to be better.

Thus the formula is don’t consider your dreams concerning time. Because time is a cheater. Take the pace you want, improve your craft, and keep on trying. Time will come along, relax ;]

My takeaway after failing to time...

enjoying nature

Nobody knows the truth until they learn, and that’s why I want to scream this loud before someone else making the same mistake as I did. For me it was not celebrities but my friends and family. Everyone going ahead in their life, doing higher education or working or preparing for civil exams, everything is planned out. At least they know what they want.

I felt left behind quitting my job, sitting at home, looking at my room’s empty walls, and couldn’t even face my parents. I was broken literally. This is not jealousy but FEAR. Fear of losing. Losing the time, the age, that classic lifestyle, that social media vibe, etc… I am 21 and was scared of dying without making any impression, can you get me?

When for a second I stopped listening to whatever outside me, I could hear my smile which felt glad to be right here at the right place which is my home. Whatever fear I had of losing didn’t matter anymore. Because that’s not important. What’s important is,

“Do you remember your dream?”

Yes, I do.

“Do you have any idea how will you get there?”

Not even a clue!

“It’s fine. As long as you’re holding on to it, it will find a way towards you”

That is the lesson time has taught me!!

Dear friend whoever reading this, “Remember YOUR dream. Time will be your friend if you focus on YOU than itself ”

Happy Pongal BTW. See you!

PS: Would love to hear the feedback from you!
